Our media interactions

Apart from frequent interaction and one-on-one sensitization activities with media persons, Varta Trust partners other civil society agencies in media advocacy campaigns. In 2015-16, we partnered Citizen News Service, Lucknow for the 2015 Health Justice Media Awards that recognize journalism focussed on health and gender in the context of the 2030 Global Goals for Sustainable Development. In the period June to December 2018, Varta Trust undertook a multi-media campaign called ‘Reach OUT’ to generate awareness about a unique online locator for queer-friendly sexual health, mental health and legal aid service providers in India. We developed the locator with support from Grindr for Equality, Los Angeles and SAATHII, Chennai. Read about the ‘Reach OUT’ campaign in our annual report for 2018-19.
