Webinar #8: ‘It Is My Kind of Love: Polyamory and Going beyond Monogamous Love in Relationships’, June 17, 2022

In this first of Varta Trust’s panel discussions to mark the Pride Month, Debjyoti Ghosh, human rights lawyer and postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology, University of Pretoria, South Africa, will be in conversation with prominent speakers from the fields of filmmaking, art, journalism and mental health. Attend the panel and participate in the discussion over Zoom on June 17, 2022 from 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm.

Kajori Sen, Associate Professor & Assistant Dean (Career Development), School of Journalism and Communication, O. P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat: Kajori Sen has been a TV news anchor and reporter for a decade. Starting her career with the NDTV Profit channel, she moved to the main news channel shortly thereafter, covering key beats like civil aviation, technology and automobiles. She also anchored the Breakfast News on NDTV 24/7. She was NDTV’s Foreign Correspondent for England and later worked for CNN-News18 as Associate Business Editor. She is now with the O. P. Jindal Global University, and is writing her first novel.

Paromita Vohra, filmmaker, writer, teacher, actor, art curator and relentless antakshari winner for 25 years: Paromita Vohra’s distinctive aesthetic has been admired across the world and her films screened at film festivals across the world. She is known for her feminist forms that embody the feminist eye turned upon the world. She runs Parodevi Pictures and Agents of Ishq, the former being a production house that has presented 10 highly successful documentaries, many of which are considered landmarks in Indian documentary practice, and the latter, an innovative multi-media project about sex, love and desire.

Srabasti Majumdar, mental health professional: Srabasti Majumdar is a Kolkata-based psychological counsellor and gender and sexuality rights activist. She is part of the Varta online locator for queer-friendly sexual health, mental health and legal aid service providers in India, and through her work offers a safe space to members of the queer communities.
